(Cognitief-) gedragstherapeutische benaderingen van seksuele problemen en stoornissen: een historische en conceptuele situering

Samenvatting

Seksuele problemen en stoornissen komen veel voor en leiden tot veel leed. Cognitief gedragstherapeutische therapieën bij deze problemen en stoornissen hebben ruwweg sinds 1960 een grote ontwikkeling doorgemaakt. Tot nog toe heeft het tijdschrift Gedragstherapie daaraan weinig aandacht besteed. Slechts enkele publicaties in dit tijdschrift behandelden seksuele problemen of stoornissen. Met een dubbelthemanummer (juni en december 2012) worden cognitief gedragstherapeutische interventies bij seksuele problemen of stoornissen in kaart gebracht en geëvalueerd. In dit openingsartikel wordt de geschiedenis van de cognitief-gedragstherapeutische behandelingen van seksuele problemen en stoornissen toegelicht. Ook worden de theoretische modellen die ten grondslag liggen aan deze behandelingen beschreven. Tenslotte wordt een overzicht gegeven van de verschillende bijdragen aan dit dubbele themanummer. In dit eerste nummer wordt aandacht besteed aan: seksuele disfuncties, homo-affirmatieve therapie en plegers van seksueel geweld. In het tweede nummer zal stilgestaan worden bij: seksuele trauma's, hyperseksualiteit en parafilieën. Van elk thema wordt een overzicht gegeven, dat vervolgens geïllustreerd wordt met klinische casus.
